I’d love to share a recipe I got from a dear\u00a0college friend that has\u00a0been a must have at every party we’ve hosted. And my family has parties ALOT!<\/span><\/p>\n

RECIPE: JOJO’S AWESOME BEAN DIP <\/strong><\/div>\n

1 LARGE can of El Paso refried beans<\/p>\n

or<\/p>\n

2 medium cans of EL Paso refried beans<\/p>\n

1 can of Hormel No Bean Chili<\/p>\n

1 bottle of your favorite salsa (I use a Texas chipotle salsa)<\/p>\n

1 package of Kraft Shredded Cheese (I use Mexican or Four Cheeses)<\/p>\n

Your favorite tortilla chips<\/p>\n

OPTIONAL:<\/p>\n

1 half an onion, diced<\/p>\n

1\u00a0avocado, sliced<\/p>\n

In a slow cooker: combine\u00a0refried\u00a0beans, Hormel Chili, 3\/4 bottle of Salsa, half package of cheese, and diced onion (optional).<\/p>\n

Mix thoroughly. Set cooker to low heat.<\/p>\n

On top of this add the remaining cheese, top with remaining salsa and avocado (optional) and any remaining diced onions (optional).<\/p>\n

Place your favorite chips in a bowl next to the cooker. Let the contents\u00a0simmer\u00a0throughout the party. I’ve found this to be a great ‘end of party’ snack. People gravitate to it after they have drunk a bit. And it tastes better with time. But if you go this route, you might want to opt out of the\u00a0avocado. Either way, it’s always been a big hit at my parties. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

\"\"GARDENING TIP — ROSES<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you live in a cold area and have your roses outside, make sure to clip them down in the Fall and cover them with a plastic pail, to keep them safe from frost. Surrounding this plastic pail with straw or mulch also helps protect the roses from frost.<\/p>\n
